You will report directly to the Managing Director of a progressive Building Contractor who delivers construction, refurbishment, and interior fit outs across; commercial, health, aged care, education, infrastructure, retail and hospitality projects.

When you join the Company, you will be tasked with an extensive strategic research exercise. The long-term objective being to fully understand the business, to engage with existing clients, to research potential business opportunities and initiate genuine long-term business relationships.

You need to be confident enough to make cold calls, resilient enough when you are knocked back, be able to observe and really listen, never presuming that you know what a client wants.

Although the focus of this role is business development you will also be involved in some marketing responsibilities and the management of systems and processes. This will include maintaining a database, Indesign templates, supervision of site photography, website management, E brochure updates, updating staff profiles and keeping up to date with tender and EOI deliverables.

Relevant experience in presentation, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and a track record of proficiency in the use of software is essential (Abobe Suite, Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Microsoft suite, Mail Chimp). Qualifications in business, marketing, journalism, or public relations would all be valuable.  Applicants with previous experience of working within the construction or property industry will be highly regarded.
