This multi award winning medium tier building contractor are seeking a competent Site Manager experienced at managing projects to $20M. The largest project that they are likely to build is up to $20M but the majority are between $3M – $12M.

Previous experience of managing technically challenging projects in hospitals, laboratories, aged care facilities or hospitality projects is essential. Some of the projects might only be $0.5M - $3M in value but they are often tricky projects that require someone with a sharp eye for detail. To be considered for this role as a Site Manager you will need to be equally skilled to complete complex fit out and refurbishment projects in the $2M - $5M range but also capable of building a $10M D&C new build project.

There are some other essential things that they are looking for:

You must be from a carpentry trade background and worked your way up the system to Leading Hand, Foreman (m/f), General Foreman (m/f) / Site Manager.

They build new build projects and fit out and refurbishment projects that are technically difficult, often with complex services and many with large structural elements to the build. This role would only really work if you had considerable experience of new build construction projects previously but are happy to manage fit out and refurbishment jobs when required. They often complete projects in occupied buildings so strong client liaison skills and an ability to work alongside the public is essential.

This is a strategic recruit as they are trying to plan for projects that will commence in the next couple of months. This role is a long-term role, they never employ contract staff and like to invest in people for the long term. The organisation is in an enviable position now as they have ongoing projects and so this is an excellent choice in relation to stability.

They can employ immediately or wait for a month / six weeks for the right person if you need to hand in notice and need a break.
