Qualifications

This is a completely unique role. This thriving boutique development firm operates in a specialised field. They are involved in the whole life cycle of their client’s buildings. They don’t just design a building and sell it on. They are totally invested in the whole process. They design, oversee the construction and deliver sustainable buildings that they then go on to maintain. Sometimes they also source the development sites and act as the development managers.

They are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join their lively team of Project Managers. The work is cutting edge and fast track and demands a high level of technical input. Your role will evolve into one where you will liaise between all the stakeholders and you will have an input into development, construction, project management and facilities management. This opportunity is rare because you will constantly learn and develop skills ‘on the job’.

The ideal applicant will be a graduate of civil or structural engineering, construction management or quantity surveying. You should already have a minimum of  3 – 4 post graduation years  of experience working for a building contractor or a consultant. Solid contract administration skills are essential as are exceptional communication skills. A strong eye for technical detail, an ability to work through design and construction challenges and meet taxing deadlines will be required.

Ideally your skill set will include being able to use CAD or Revit to mark up plans. You should have a proven ability to procure your own work, be competent in financial management and cost reporting, be across WHS legislative requirements, be able to drive construction programs, be well organised and have an appreciation for design and space planning.

You will need to have a strong working ethic and an ability to cope in a fast-paced environment. This team is small and agile, and they really pull all their resources together to achieve results and so you must be a genuine team player. No two days will be the same and you will be working in an ever changing and evolving environment.
