An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a progressive National Building Contractor initially as a Leading Hand / Sub Foreman in a permanent career role.

An established organisation this building contractor have a loyal client base built over many years. Project types include but are not limited to the industrial, commercial, hospitality and education sectors. They have just been awarded several new projects some of which are unusual one-off jobs.

They are looking for a candidate who is currently a Leading Hand or a Sub Foreman who aspires to grow with the organisation.

Some criteria are essential for this company.

  • Completed carpentry trade
  • Previous exposure of managing subcontractors as a Leading Hand or a Sub Foreman for a Commercial Building Company
  • A proven track record of overseeing safety on site, conducting site inductions and leading toolbox meetings
  • An ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Working knowledge of set out, structures and finishes and a strong understanding of services
  • You must be confident in your own ability but happy to take direction.
  • Your written communication skills and computer skills should be above average
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • On site you adopt a ‘partnership approach’ with the subcontractors
  • You are very keen to keep learning new skills
  • Enthusiasm and passion for working in the construction industry.
