This company are a boutique multi award winning building contractor with a fantastic history of success and a very low turnover of staff. They specialise in extremely challenging technically difficult commercial construction projects in the $0.5M – $50M range, for private and public sector clients. Most of the projects are fit out and refurbishment projects typically with complex services and often with considerable structural elements. A lot of the projects are in occupied buildings for high profile clients who have very high expectations.
To compliment their existing team this builder is looking for an additional Project Manager who can take a leadership role within the business. If you join this team it will be because you see a genuine long-term partnership and that in turn is exactly what the Company wants. An opportunity to progress to a Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager is a possibility for the right person.
You must have a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. It is essential that you have spent a substantial period with a building contractor as a Contract Administrator and or Project Engineer before you became a Project Manager. You must possess a strong commercial understanding of projects. You need to be a good negotiator and can form rock-solid relationships with all stakeholders. Most importantly they are seeking someone who is very technically minded but is still fortunate enough to have excellent communication skills.
If you have never spent any time out on site so far in your career, then you would probably struggle to do well in this role. Although academically bright you have always been pulled towards the site and the practical side of construction. They want someone who is honest, eager to keep learning, not ego driven and very confident to achieve results. The Director of the company is the sort of person who leads by example. He has an amazing attention to detail; he takes pride in his work and has a strong work ethic. He is looking for someone who shares these qualities. He also very much approves of continued education and self development.

Interviews for this role will take place towards the end of January 2020. They are able to commence employment at the end of January or anytime in February or March 2020, depending on what is most suitable.
